It's Donations Time!
Over the years we've run campaigns to help support the running costs of BLnet. They can be substantial.
The biggest categories are -- |
- Permanent monthly hosting costs ($US155 a month)
- Occasional hardware and software costs (various)
This post will be pinned right here. As donations come in and the total highlights its way upwards, that will reveal more and more of the boy in the photo.
LostBoy is out of pocket already from this year's current costs, so we've decided this year's campaign should cover the board's costs so far this year, then for the next two years, and allow some extra for occasional hardware and software costs. So we've made the campaign target $US6000 (€4475), which will pay for this year and on until December 2010.
How to Donate
- You don't have to make a donation.
- Donations can be sent anonymously by post to the address in the Pinboard. Click Here.
- Donations are best in Euro or US dollar values, if possible for you.
- The easiest donation to make is cash, which is cheap to exchange. PayPal-type payments or credit card transfers are not available to us. To obscure cash you can enclose it in a greeting card.
- Transaction fees for international cheques and IMOs (International Money/Postal Orders) are $US17 each, so it's not practical to make a cheque or IMO donation of less than $US30. With IMOs, note that only IMOs from the USA are accepted in The Netherlands. Americans should also make sure they don't send a domestic postal money order, which is only negotiable inside the US.
- If you'd like your donation acknowledged privately, enclose a request for that with the post.
- As always, donations do not buy privileges or special favors on the board.
